Emergency Services
The Castlewood community is protected by dedicated volunteer emergency responders who serve residents and the surrounding rural areas. The Castlewood Volunteer Fire Department, Castlewood Ambulance Service, and Hamlin County Sheriff’s Office work together to provide fast, reliable emergency response.

Castlewood Fire District
The Castlewood Volunteer Fire Department provides 24-hour fire protection and emergency response for the Castlewood area.
This volunteer department is made up of community members who respond to fires, accidents, and other emergencies to protect lives and property. Firefighters also assist with rescue operations and emergency situations throughout the community. Contact the department if you are interested in volunteering.

Castlewood Ambulance Service
The Castlewood Ambulance Service provides 24-hour emergency medical response and patient transport for Castlewood and surrounding areas.
The service operates with trained volunteer EMTs and drivers who respond to medical emergencies, provide care, and transport patients to medical facilities.

Hamlin County Sheriff’s Office
Law enforcement services for Castlewood are provided by the Hamlin County Sheriff’s Office, which works closely with city officials and emergency responders to maintain public safety. The Sheriff’s Office assists with law enforcement, investigations, and emergency response throughout Hamlin County.
